Did you know?
We all hear the siren from the firehouse at noon each day. But the siren also exists as a warning system for our town in case of flood or tornado.
Siren Procedures
This protocol will outline the uses of the siren. We will no longer be using the siren for all fire calls. We will only use the siren in the case of natural disasters (flooding and tornadoes).Flooding:In the event of POSSIBLE flooding the siren will sound one long tone (same as the Noon whistle) this will be done every hour until imminent flooding or the risk of flooding has diminished. In the event of IMMINENT flooding the siren will sound 3 times in a row. This will be done every 10 minutes for an hour and then done as needed. Tornado:In the event of HIGH WINDS, POSSIBLE TORNADO OR TORNADO SIGHTING the siren will be sounded 6 TIMES every 10 minutes until the risk has passed.
